Will Honey Face Balm suit my skin?

The ingredients in Honey Face Balm suits all skin types, but of course, everyone’s skin behaves differently. We have clients with the four main skin types - oily, dry, combination and sensitive - and they have had good results. We know how nerve-wracking it can be to change skin care, and we want you to be 100% happy with our product, so encourage you to order a 10g Mini and see how it feels for you. If you are not happy, we can work with you to address any issues. Please discontinue using if any irritations occur.

I have oily skin. Won’t an oil-based product make this worse?

It sounds like it would, doesn’t it? But it actually has the opposite effect. The olive oil has amazing moisturising qualities, and coupled with beeswax, seals in moisture which balances out the skins sebaceous glands, stopping more oil production.

Can I use this under makeup?

Yes you can. Wait about 10 minutes after applying and then use makeup as normal.

My face feels greasy - what should I do?

With any oil-based product, less is more. If you are used to using water-based moisturisers, an oil-based product will feel different. We recommend a pea-sized amount for your face and neck - but you could use less and add more as needed. Honey Face Balm takes about 10 minutes to absorb into your skin, and will leave a dewy finish. If you have applied a little more than needed, use a warm cotton cloth to remove any excess.

I have acne - will this help?

We would love to say ‘yes’, but knowing the acne scene well, there is no miracle product (being 100% honest!). However, there is nothing in Honey Face Balm that should upset already irritated skin, making it safe to try on acne affected skin. All four ingredients have anti-inflammatory properties, and honey is an excellent healer and is anti-bacterial. We encourage testing one of our 10g Minis and seeing how it feels on your skin. We have some clients with acne-prone skin and they have noticed improvements.

Does this provide any sun protection?

Honey Face Balm provides no protection from the sun. We strongly recommend you apply sunscreen after using Honey Face Balm - wait at least 10 minutes. All concerns about your skin health and sun protection should be discussed with your doctor.

I have allergies. Is Honey Face Balm safe?

If you have allergies, please carefully read the ingredients. We only use olive oil, beeswax, Tea Tree honey and pomegranate seed oil. If you are or suspect you are allergic to any of these ingredients, please do not use this product. There are no hidden ingredients or perfumes.

How long will a jar last?

A 50g jar should last at least 4 months - more likely 6 - depending on how often and how much you use. A 10g Mini is enough for 1 month. A little goes a long way!

Can I use this on other parts of my body?

Yes, you certainly can! Our clients have had great results using this on their hands (cuticles love it!), feet, scarring, after waxing/shaving, cuts and abrasions, and have also used it on children. It doubles as a lip balm, under eye cream, and even fly away hair tamer.

My balm has a different colour or scent to my last order - is this ok?

It is very common for the colour of the balm to change between batches. The amazing olive oil we use can have colour changes that vary between seasons - the oil is still perfect though! Likewise, the beeswax we source is from a producer with bees scattered around the state. The wax scent and colour varies according to where it was collected and what flowers the bees were pollinating. It ranges from very floral, to muted in aroma, and it can be like a tour of Tasmania’s native flora! We love the seasonal surprises from our ingredients, which is quite different from products made with synthetic or fragranced ingredients (they will be the same every time). None of these changes impacts the quality or effectiveness of the balm :)
